Glenbuck Covenanter Memorial

The memorial at the former mining village of Glenbuck was erected by the local landowner, Charles Howatson of Glenbuck, in memory of the local Covenanters, in particular John Brown of Priesthill and Rev Richard Cameron, who was killed with others at Airds Moss.

The memorial was originally built into the front gable of Glenbuck Parish Church, but when this was demolished the stone was relocated to Muirkirk Parish Church kirkyard. It was returned to Glenbuck in August 2019 when a new selection of memorials formerly associated with the village were returned to a visitor parking area.
